Our language discussions are a wonderful opportunity to view the Phillips Collection and practice your language skills in a friendly and relaxed setting with the help of our native language facilitators. Both beginners and more experienced foreign language speakers are invited to join us. Experienced speakers will take part in the discussion and will be available to facilitate conversations, answer questions, and make you progress! We'll do our best to make you feel comfortable and have fun while meeting other Phillips Collection and ICDC members who share the same interest in foreign languages.
If you are a native speaker of the languages we are practicing this month, and would like to share your language with other club members, please e-mail us at Info@InternationalClubDC.com.
Please note that outside food is not allowed.
Encounter superb works of modern art in an intimate setting at The Phillips Collection, an internationally recognized museum in Washington's vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood.
Paintings by Renoir and Rothko, Bonnard and O'Keeffe, van Gogh and Diebenkorn are among the many stunning impressionist and modern works that fill the museum's distinctive building, which combines extensive new galleries with the family home of its founder, Duncan Phillips. The collection continues to develop with selective new acquisitions, many by contemporary artists. Special exhibitions and frequent changes in the arrangement of the permanent collection mean that there's something new on every visit to the Phillips.
Practice your French, Spanish, German, and Russian at our language meet-up in Tryst at the Phillips café between 6 and 8 p.m., or deepen your love of paintings on a tour of artworks by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edouard Manet, and Amedeo Modigliani at 6 and 7 p.m.
We will take breaks during the event to give you a chance to get a drink or something to eat while socializing with ICDC members practicing another language.
