FREE EVENT - International Cherry Blossom Picnic
Enjoy the Cherry Blossoms with your ICDC friends.
With well over 200 ICDC members and members of partner organizations expected this is a great opportunity to make new friends in a relaxed setting.
Due to the delayed cherry blossom bloom schedule for 2015 we have scheduled our Cherry Blossom Picnic for Sunday April 12th.

Event Description

It's that time of the year again -- the weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. Soon the Cherry blossoms will be in bloom all over Washington, DC and around the Tidal Basin! You are cordially invited to join us for a relaxing afternoon on the grass to share the beauty of springtime in Washington, meet other ICDC members as well as members of our partner organizations, and make new friends.

ICDC is pleased to present this event as a free activity for our members to meet each other in a relaxed, fun, and social setting. Last year's picnic was attended by well over 200 ICDC members and we expect this year's picnic to be very well-attended. Please RSVP online and invite your friends to RSVP online as well.

Do you plan to invite guests?
Though the event is free, we ask each person attending to make an online reservation on the International Club of DC Web site. Can You Help Us?
With the number of guests expected, we may need a hand here or there to ensure everything goes smoothly. Let us know if you are available to volunteer to help us during the picnic. Thank you for your support and cooperation!

Please Bring an Entrée to share
Please bring an entree sufficient for 5 people to share along with any necessary serving utensils. You are encouraged to bring an entrée from a country or region of interest to add to the culinary diversity of the picnic. On a note card, please write the name of the dish, its country or origin, along with a brief description. Please do not bring any fast-food, chips, salsa, or crackers. Please also bring water or other non alcoholic beverages with you.

What Else to Bring
Sunscreen, sun glasses and a picnic blanket. Please bring water/non-alcoholic beverages along with serving utensils, including plates, forks, napkins, and glasses for the picnic. You are also welcome to bring any outdoor games you'd like to play: badminton, Frisbee, etc.,

Event Agenda (May change)

1:00 PM Check in starts. Please arrive on time and leave time for transportation delays. Please check-in with the ICDC representative handling check-in. Afterwards relax with us on the grass, play games, and sample international cuisine while making new friends.

Kindly note that your contribution is unrelated to the embassy or venue the event is being presented at and all proceeds from the event are used solely by International Club of DC Inc. to cover expenses related to presenting cultural events to our members.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the venue. Kindly note that, as is the case in most major cities, the availability of street parking in Washington DC is limited and beyond our control. Due to the limited availability of parking, we highly recommend a cab, Uber/Lyft or other transportation option. The event start at the designated time so please allow sufficient time for traffic/travel/transportation and parking as these factors are beyond our control.

Event Notes

In the event of rain, the cherry blossom picnic will be moved one week. If you have reason to doubt the cherry blossom picnic would be rescheduled due to rain or other adverse weather, please check on the ICDC Web site after 12:00 PM on the day of the event.
