Sunset Moonlight Kayaking on the PotomacSUNDAY: Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. We have timed one of our popular sunset kayaking sessions at Georgetown to coincide with a full moon to make the experience even more spectacular. Ballroom Dance LessonsWednesday, May 21: French Wine and Ballroom Dance Lessons at the Embassy of France: Learn to dance the Viennese Waltz and Samba. You do not need prior experience or a dance partner to sign up! Let us show you how to dance the Viennese Waltz, one of the most beautiful and romantic ballroom dances followed by the Samba, one of the most exciting Latin dances. Washington DC Sushi Cooking ClassWednesday, May 28 Sushi Dinner and Demonstration at Uni A Sushi Place. Learn how to cook sushi rice, choose and slice fish, use the bamboo mat to make rolls and, and where to find the ingredients. The seated dinner following the sushi class includes a variety of sushi and dessert as you socialize with other attendees and make new friends. Click here for tickets.

Potomac River CruiseFriday, May 30 Sunset Margarita Cruise aboard Potomac River Yacht with open-air top deck. Start your weekend with a memorable cruise on the Potomac with light food catered from Lebanese Taverna and $4 margaritas! Thursday June 05 An Evening in Budapest: Hungarian Embassy Celebration of Music and Culture with Dinner Reception. The International Club of DC cordially request the pleasure of your company for a very special evening at the Embassy of Hungary featuring Hungarian music, culture and food. The evening includes a wonderful piano recital followed by a dinner reception featuring Hungarian wine and traditional dishes prepared for us by the embassy chef. Sunday, May 18, 2008. Fencing Lessons Including Equipment Rentals. Join us for an exciting lesson on swordsmanship and chivalry. The lesson will cover the basics of fencing in a relaxed, fun, and SAFE setting. All equipment will be provided. After the lesson, practice your fencing skills with other attendees. Sunday, May 18, 2008. Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. Tuesday, May 20, 2008. FREE Jazz concert at the Austrian Embassy featuring the sounds of the Adrian Gaspar Trio. We invite you to join us at the Embassy of Austria for a FREE jazz performance featuring the Adrian Gaspar Trio. The evening begins with a cash bar serving award winning Austrian wine and it is also a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other ICDC members attending the concert. Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Embassy of France Ballroom Dance Lessons and French Wine: Learn to dance the Viennese Waltz and Samba. We are pleased to present to you a special opportunity to learn how to dance the Waltz and merengue at the Embassy of France. Beginners are welcome! You do not need a dance partner to sign up! Let us show you how to dance the Viennese Waltz, one of the most elegant and romantic ballroom dances followed by the Samba, one of the most fun Latin dances. Saturday, May 24, 2008. Volunteer at the Capital Area Food Bank to combat hunger. Spend an afternoon with ICDC Benefactors and help combat hunger in the Washington DC area. Our volunteer initiative at the Capital Area Food Bank is a wonderful way to help those who are less fortunate while meeting other compassionate ICDC members who care about our community. There is nor charge to attend this event but reservations are mandatory. Please make your reservation online.

Saturday, May 24, 2008. Tennis Lessons with Practice Time: All skill levels welcome!. Join us for an afternoon of tennis lessons to meet and socialize with other ICDC members who love to play tennis. Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Languages of the World: French, Spanish, German, and Italian language discussion. Our Languages of the World series is on one of our most popular events. We have been offering this event to our multilingual members for more than 3 years and it is a great opportunity to practice a foreign language! Thursday, May 29, 2008. Embassy of France Classical Concert and Wine Reception Featuring the Ebène Quartet. We invite you to the Embassy of France for a classical concert with the Ebène Quartet featuring the works of Mozart, Bartok, and Schubert. The performance is followed by a wine reception to meet the artists as well as ICDC members in attendance. Please reserve your tickets soon, as capacity at the auditorium is limited. Friday, May 30, 2008. Sunset margarita cruise on the Potomac aboard yacht with open-air top deck. Join us for an unforgettable sunset cruise on the Potomac with optional Latin dancing under the stars on the top deck! Imagine gently cruising past the majestic sights of Washington as you enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Potomac. To make the experience even more memorable, we will play a variety of Lain and international dance music on the top deck for optional dancing under the stars during the last half of the cruise. Saturday, June 14, 2008. Waterfall Hiking trip to Great Falls Park, Maryland. We invite you to visit Great Falls Park at the dawn of spring to experience lush green leaves along with nature and wild-life along the bank of the Potomac. Great falls is a hidden gem of a National Park located just minutes from Washington DC. However once we are there, and surrounded by nature, you'll feel hours away from DC. At Great Falls, the Potomac River plunges seventy-six feet through a deep gorge creating a series of scenic waterfalls. We will hike and enjoy a relaxing picnic before heading back to town. Friday, June 20, 2008. Sunset Margarita Cruise on the Potomac River. We start an ICDC monthly tradition with our very first cruise of the year on the Potomac River. Start your weekend with a relaxing cruise on the Potomac River. This is a great opportunity to meet other ICDC members and make new friends from around the world. Saturday, June 21, 2008. La Fête de la Musique at the Embassy of France. Since 1981, the French have been celebrating the Summer Solstice with La Fête de la Musique, a festival that showcases amateur and professional musicians playing in the streets. Traditionally, full of different musical colors, this event is a very joyful and unique experience, gathering people of all ages outdoors. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Private Tour of the Hirshhorn Museum with lunch at the Smithsonian Castle. Join us for a private tour of the Hirshhorn Museum to experience the origins and evolution of the Smithsonian's museum of modern and contemporary art. Saturday, June 28, 2008. Sailing Lessons on the Potomac River: No prior experience necessary!. Learn how to sail with us on the Potomac River. In just one day, you will learn all the basics of navigating a sail boat while experiencing magnificent views of the Washington DC skyline from the Potomac River. Friday, July 04, 2008. Independence Day July 4th Fireworks Cruise: Enjoy spectacular waterfront views of the fireworks and monuments. We have the best seats in town to watch the 4th of July fireworks while enjoying the company of your ICDC friends. Watching the fireworks from the Potomac River is a truly unforgettable and magical experience. Enjoy a spectacular fireworks display in comfort amidst magnificent vistas of the illuminated Washington DC skyline at a distance. Sunday, July 13, 2008. Indian cooking class with lunch and dessert at Georgetown. We had such a great time at our last Indian cooking class, we have scheduled another one by popular demand. Please join your ICDC friends for an Indian cooking class followed by lunch at one of the most celebrated Indian restaurants in town.
