On an early autumn day in September we braved a dire weather forecast that predicted a day of rain but was rewarded with an absolutely beautiful afternoon of hiking with sunshine and the temperature in the mid 70s. We also visited Luray Caverns to experience spectacular rock formations that are millions of years old. After relaxing and socializing with other attendees over a picnic we hiked to a waterfall before heading back home.
