Discover Bulgaria and the culture of a civilization spanning a thousand years. Come by yourself or with friends for a wonderful opportunity to discover Bulgaria through all your senses!

His Excellency Ambassador Tihomir Stoychev, the Bulgarian Ambassador to the US is expected to welcome guests attending the event pending schedule availability.
The evening includes welcome remarks and an overview of Bulgaria, Bulgarian culture, geography, and tourism. Feast on a buffet of traditional Bulgarian delicacies prepared especially for you by the embassy caterer along with wine served at the open bar. This is also a great opportunity to meet diplomatic personnel at the embassy as well as International Club of DC members in attendance. Space is limited.
Bulgarian Folk Dance Performance by Zharava:
Zharava’s mission is to preserve the rich Bulgarian folk-dance tradition, and to enhance the awareness of Bulgarian folk arts. The Artistic Director of Zharava is a longtime professional folk dance instructor and choreographer, Desi Jordanoff. Zharava's mission is to educate people and create community through the experience of Bulgarian folklore.

Banitsa ~ Bulgarian cheese and spinach pies.
"SIRENE" ~ Bulgarian feta cheese and Bulgarian bread.
Ljutenica ~ Uniquely Bulgarian delicacy of roasted Peppers, tomatoes, carrot, onions, condiments, & eggplant.
Ovcharska Salata ~ Bulgarian Shepherd's Salad (vegetables and tomatoe salad topped with crumbled feta cheese).
Wine Kebab with Veal
Monastery Gyuvech ~ Mixed pork and vegetable stew.
Bulgarian Grilled Meat ~ Bulgarian ground pork spiced patties, called “kebapcheta” and “kyufteta”
Feta Cheese (Bulgarian SIRENE) Stuffed Peppers with "Sarmi" rice along with ground meat stuffed vine leaves
Dessert:
Chocolate Cheesecakes and Apricot Roll
Please note that the event is presented for you to walk around the embassy, meet ICDC members, as well as embassy staff during the dinner reception, as you discover Bulgaria. Kindly note that though there will be limited seating, the event is not presented as a seated function. The event will be presented rain, shine, or snow.
