Event Description

The International Club of DC and the Russian Chamber Arts Society cordially requests the pleasure of your company at the Embassy of France for a delightful evening of classical music. The concert is followed by a buffet diner reception with wine and desserts. You are welcome to attend on your own or with friends. Very few tickets are available for this rare delight of a classical concert at the French Embassy featuring the world-renowned performers. Please note that the dinner buffet will be served as a stand-up reception with limited seating. Reserved tables are available for groups that purchase 10 tickets, please contact us for the details.

At this gala dinner and performance, highlights of Tchaikovsky's 1890 masterpiece, The Queen of Spades, will be sung in Russian by soprano, Jennifer Casey Cabot as Lisa, tenor, Viktor Antipenko as Hermann, mezzo-soprano, Susana Poretsky as The Countess, and mezzo-soprano, Monika Krajewska as Polina, interspersed with English narration of Pushkin's novel by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company member Rick Foucheux. Accompanying them will be pianists Genadi Zagor and Vera Danchenko-Stern, RCAS founder and artistic director.

Due to enhanced security at the French Embassy, photo ID is REQUIRED for attendance. Please ensure all ticketholders and each guest attending with a ticketholder has valid photo ID. We are unable to issue a refund if you are denied entry due to lack of photo ID. If you purchase more than one ticket, please send us the full name of each of your guests.

Tickets will be under the name of the guest who reserved the tickets.

Map/Parking

If driving, street parking will be available on Reservoir Road and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Also, there is a pay lot located across the street at Georgetown University Hospital. Due to security considerations, parking WILL NOT be available on the grounds of the Embassy of France.

If using public transportation, the D6 Metro Bus towards Sibley Hospital drops off directly in front of the embassy. Due to limited parking, we recommend Uber, public transportation or a cab.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the venue.
