Featuring: Magdelena Wor, Jesús Daniél Hernández, Elizabeth Treat, Liora Michelle, & Dariusz Ocetek
Under the direction of Dr. Scott Beard

Join us on your own or with friends to experience an enchanting evening of music, culture, art, and cuisine at the Embassy of Poland, one of Washington's most magnificent embassies. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover Poland through all your senses! The evening begins with welcome remarks and an overview of Poland, Polish culture, geography, trade, and tourism. Afterwards sit back and relax to a delightful classical concert featuring Polish art songs alone with opera selections by Moniuszko, Strauss, Verdi, Donizetti, and others.

After the concert you will be invited to feast on a buffet of traditional Polish delicacies prepared with wine served at the open bar. The evening also provides you with the opportunity to meet diplomatic personnel at the embassy as well as International Club of DC members in attendance.

This evening of music and song will be a recreation of a “Salon” which was an artistic and intellectual outlet mostly for lovers of art and music in Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Berlin, and Warsaw. In the 17th 18th and 19th centuries the “Salon” was a powerful cultural, social, and political tool.  Our Production will be a recreation of the one of the most famous “Salonnières” of the era. In Poland, near the end of the 17th-century, the Duchess Sieniawska hosted an influential Salon, whose dominance in Warsaw lasted into the next century.

In this special production, the audience will have the chance to relive the Polish Salon experiences. Our Salon will feature world-class exquisite soprano, Elizabeth Treat, who will perform the role of Soprano Marcella Sembrich, the most famous Polish soprano of her day. Also featured in our Performance will be magnificent soprano Liora Michelle, Bolivian tenor Pablo Henrich, Polish baritone Dariusz Ocetek, and Polish mezzo soprano Magdalena Wor.
Leading the world-class singing troupe as Conductor will be Dr. Scott Beard, Professor of Music and Dean of Graduate Studies at Shepherd University accompanying on the authentic Paderewski piano which is located at the Embassy.

Our hosts for the evening will be Ambassador and Mrs. Ryszard Schnepf of the Republic of Poland. Following the program will be a lavish dinner with wine of typical and elegant Polish cuisine. This Program promises to be the highlight of the fall cultural season in Washington. Our previous concerts at the Embassy of Poland have sold out well in advance! Please reserve your tickets now, as space is limited.
