Event Description

You are invited to our French Embassy Oscars Soiree to watch the 89th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in honor of the best films of 2016.

A live broadcast of the ceremony will be shown in the movie theater of the French Embassy auditorium so join us on your own or with friends to watch the Oscars! Your evening begins with live jazz as you meet, network, and socialize with ICDC Members and make new friends. French Wine & exquisite Parisian desserts will be available for purchase. Afterwards join us to watch the Oscars and experience the magic of cinema in the French Embassy auditorium.

Space is limited and the event is expected to sell out well in advance. Discounted tickets available for a very limited time so reserve your tickets now.

Please bring cash for the wine and desserts available for purchase. Please note that dessert selections are limited and available on a first come basis so please order your desserts early when you arrive for the event due to limited supplies.

Please note that dinner is not served at the event and instead delectable French desserts will be available for purchase along with the French wine and champagne available for purchase at the cash bar. Please plan to have dinner before or after the event.

The event is expected to be well attended and we kindly ask for your patience and understanding while we work with our event partners to present you a wonderful evening. The bars close at 10:15 PM. Guests are invited to watch the Oscars in the French Embassy auditorium until 10:30 PM.

Due to enhanced security at the French Embassy, photo ID is REQUIRED for attendance. Please ensure all ticketholders and each guest attending with a ticketholder has valid photo ID. We are unable to issue a refund if you are denied entry due to lack of photo ID. If you purchase more than one ticket, please e-mail us the full name of each of each guest attending with you.

Kindly note that your contribution is unrelated to the embassy or venue the event is being presented at and all proceeds from the event are used solely by International Club of DC Inc. to cover expenses related to presenting cultural events to our members.

Map/Parking

If driving, street parking will be available on Reservoir Road and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Also, there is a pay lot located across the street at Georgetown University Hospital. Due to security considerations, parking WILL NOT be available on the grounds of the Embassy of France.

If using public transportation, the D6 Metro Bus towards Sibley Hospital drops off directly in front of the embassy. Due to limited parking, we recommend Uber, public transportation or a cab.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the venue. Kindly note that, as is the case in most major cities, the availability of street parking in Washington DC is limited and beyond our control. Due to the limited availability of parking, we highly recommend a cab, Uber/Lyft or other transportation option. The event start at the designated time so please allow sufficient time for traffic/travel/transportation and parking as these factors are beyond our control.
