Event Description
Join us for a guided tour of the home of the world’s most intriguing, inspiring, engrossing and always thought-provoking modern art: the Hirshhorn Museum. Meet other ICDC members with a love of art on a journey through contemporary art in all media through the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including highlights such as the rugged and realistic sculptures of Auguste Rodin, the brutal religious imagery in the paintings of Francis Bacon, and the famed Dada and Surrealist painter Man Ray.
Before the tour, meet us at the Smithsonian Castle cafe and get to know some of your fellow travelers through the strange and fascinating journey through renowned modern art. Our art gallery and museum tours are one of our most popular events and space is limited so please make your reservations early.
The cost of the tour is used to cover the operational expenses of the International Club of DC and is not related to the Hirshhorn Museum. Admission to the Hirshhorn Museum and to all its exhibitions, tours and other public educational programs is free of charge. Any charge or request for contributions is unrelated to the Hirshhorn Museum. We are very grateful for all your support of our cultural and educational events and look forward to seeing you soon!
