Event Description

The International Club of DC with the cooperation of the Embassy of Portugal and  His Excellency Ambassador Francisco Duarte Lopes, the Portuguese Ambassador to the United States, cordially request the pleasure of your company for the rare delight of a concert offering a unique exploration of Portuguese music. The concert is followed by a dinner buffet feast of Portuguese delicacies prepared especially for you by the Ambassador's staff!

The intimate and beautiful setting of the Portuguese Ambassador’s residence provides the perfect setting for you to discover Portugal through all your senses while meeting the Ambassador*, distinguished diplomats and staff at the embassy along with ICDC members in attendance.   
  
* Please note that if the Ambassador is called away for official business, the Deputy Chief of Mission or other high ranking diplomat from the embassy will present the welcome remarks.

The dinner buffet of Portuguese delicacies will be presented with limited seating. The dinner reception also includes wine and drinks served at the bar.

Please reserve your tickets soon, as space is very limited and the event is expected to sell out in advance. Discounted tickets available for a limited time. As we reach capacity, the ticket price is subject to increase.

:::: Alison Dasilva: Biography

Alison Dasilva has been performing publicly since the age of 12. Her connection to Portuguese music and culture, however, began much earlier. The daughter of parents born on the island of Terceira in the Azores, Alison grew up immersed in Portuguese traditions, including Fado, Cantoria, and Carnaval.

Her love of Fado began at the age of seven, when her grandmother taught her her first Fado, “O Xaile de Minha Mãe.” Since then, Fado has remained an important part of Alison’s life and artistic journey. Through regular visits to Terceira and her continued connection to her family’s heritage, she has developed a deep appreciation for the music, traditions, and culture of Portugal.

Alison has had the opportunity to share Fado with audiences in California, Terceira, Lisbon, and Canada. She is honored to perform at the Residence of the Ambassador of Portugal on December 3 and looks forward to sharing her love of Fado and Portuguese culture with the evening’s guests.

All online ticket sales are final. We are unable to issue refunds for tickets purchased due to expenses incurred to present the event.

9:00 PM Event Concludes

Due to security and space considerations, you must reserve a ticket in advance to attend. Please arrive with photo ID that matches the name on your reservation and the credit card used to make the reservation. Due to strict security considerations all guest must have a reservation and photo ID to attend. Absolutely no door sales.

Kindly note that your contribution is unrelated to the embassy or venue the event is being presented at and all proceeds from the event are used solely by International Club of DC Inc. to cover expenses related to presenting cultural events to our members.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the Ambassador's residence. Uber or other transportation service is highly recommended.
