The inventor, electrical engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla was born on July 10 1856 in the village of Smiljan, Croatia. Best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system, Tesla’s scientific legacy touches upon many more aspects of modern life and technology. In order to preserve and promote the character and work of Nikola Tesla, a “Memorial Center Nikola Tesla" was opened in Smiljan, Croatia on July 10, 2006.
Tesla was founded in 2003, and in 2012, the company launched Model S, the world’s first premium electric sedan. Built from the ground up to be 100 percent electric, Model S has redefined the very concept of a four-door car.
