We are Washington's premiere organization for internationally-minded professionals who enjoy international cultural experiences as well as social, educational, and outdoor events while helping the community. We have chartered a new yacht featuring an open air top deck and you are invited to join us for a magical cruise with magnificent views of the monuments. SPECIAL EVENT: Saturday, June 16 The Great Gatsby Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts: A Midsummer Night’s Gala Celebration of sophisticated music, art, wine, desserts and dance. We cordially request the pleasure of your company for a 1920s-themed Great Gatsby Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, one of Washington’s most beautiful exquisite venues. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel “The Great Gatsby” characterized the glamor and decadence of the 1920s and you are invited to experience the elegance, splendor, and extravagance of 1920s America. You do not need a date to attend so come on your own or with friends. Whisper the password (or present your ticket!) to enter the secret world of speakeasy and discover the beautiful National Museum for Women in the Arts as it is reinvented for a night into a page from the F. Scotts Fitzgerald’s novel. Our Big Band will entertain you with thrilling 1920s era tunes whether you wish to dance the night away on the museum’s marble floor or simply enjoy a sophisticated evening on the museum’s mezzanine level overlooking the ballroom. Friday, May 18 Champagne Flamenco Soiree in Madrid - International Dance Party at the Elegant Current Lounge with Complimentary Champagne. Tickets are only $7 and include a complimentary glass of champagne for the first 20 attendees. Come on your own or invite your friends to enjoy an evening of socializing and dancing with ICDC members after the Flamenco performance to the sounds of international sounds played by our DJ at one of the most fashionable lounges in Dupont Circle. Sunday, May 20 Discover the World’s Most Captivating Modern Art: Hirshhorn Museum Guided Tour with Lunch at the Smithsonian Castle. Join us for a guided tour of the world’s most intriguing, inspiring, engrossing and always thought-provoking modern art. Meet other ICDC members with a love of art on a journey through contemporary art in all media through the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Before the tour, enjoy a meal at the Smithsonian Castle café and get to know other ICDC members. Wednesday, May 23 Embassy of France Dance Soiree in Paris with French Wine: Learn to Dance the Viennese Waltz and Cha Cha. Enjoy an evening with us at the Embassy of France while learning how to dance the Viennese Waltz and Cha Cha! No prior experience or a dance partner is necessary to sign up. Come on your own or with friends for an evening of dancing to make new friends and taste French wine. Let us show you how to dance the Viennese Waltz, one of the most beautiful and romantic ballroom dances. You will also learn the Cha Cha, one of the most popular Latin dances! Lessons will be followed by time to practice what you have learned and meet ICDC members who love to dance. Thursday, May 24 Embassy Row Hilton Rooftop International Happy Hour with Spectacular Views of Embassy Row and monuments. Join us for Washington's international Happy Hour with the best views in town while enjoying the company of over 200 internationally-minded professionals. Enjoy panoramic summertime views of downtown as well as surrounding monuments while you meet, socialize, and network with other ICDC members in a relaxed and friendly setting after work. Tuesday, May 29 French Embassy Cabaret Jazz Concert and French Wine Reception featuring Antoine Bleck: The French Crooner. Join us for the special opportunity to enjoy a delightful jazz cabaret concert at the French Embassy featuring Antoine Bleck, “The French Crooner.” Tickets are only $15 for a limited time and include a complimentary wine reception to meet the artists as well as ICDC members in attendance. Mr. Bleck captures the hearts of sophisticated audiences with lyrics that go from humorous to sentimental, describing moods, situations and even adolescent fantasies. Keep your heart and ears open as this "French crooner" in New York starts to make a name for himself. Join passionate host Robert Kedaka, owner of Co Co Va Fine Chocolate, along with DC’s premier Spanish wine importer, Tradewinds Specialty Imports, for a fun filled evening showcasing the gems that these two groups of local residents travel abroad to bring to the nation’s capital. Sunday, June 03, 2012. Waterfall Hiking to Great Falls Park, Maryland. We invite you to visit Great Falls Park at the dawn of spring to experience lush green leaves wake from their wintry slumber to greet the summer months ahead. Great falls is a hidden gem of a National Park located just minutes from Washington DC. However once we are there, and surrounded by nature, you'll feel hours away from DC. Friday, June 08, 2012. White Night in Havana: Dress in White for our Embassy Row Rooftop Latin Dance Soiree under the Stars to the Sounds of Sin Miedo. Dress in white and join us for our White Night in Havana dance soiree under the stars! Celebrate summer with us at the Embassy Row Hotel rooftop with an evening of dancing under the stars amidst the Washington skyline with illuminated monuments at a distance. Our favorite Latin band Sin Miedo will be entertaining and playing their well-known Latin infused beats. You are welcome to come on your own or invite your friends to join us! Our rooftop jazz and dance soiree under the stars is a great way to unwind and enjoy your weekend! Saturday, June 09, 2012. Sailing Lessons on the Potomac River: No prior experience necessary!. Learn how to sail with us on the Potomac River. In just one day, you will learn all the basics of navigating a sail boat while experiencing magnificent views of the Washington DC skyline from the Potomac River. This is also a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other ICDC members who love the outdoors and sailing. All prior sailing lessons have sold out well in advance. Swing and Viennese Waltz Lessons for Great Gatbsy Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts: Learn the Swing and Viennese Waltz on the museum’s exquisite marble dance floor. Whether you plan to attend our Great Gatbsy Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts or would simply like to learn how to dance the swing and Viennese Waltz, don't miss this rare opportunity to learn how to dance two of the one of the most timeless dances of all time. Saturday, June 23, 2012. La Fête de la Musique at the Embassy of France - Tickets only $8 and includes performances by many bands and street performers. Each year on the summer solstice, the French gather in the streets to celebrate the change of seasons with la Fête de la musique -- a dynamic tapestry of music and dancing to the sound of both amateur and professional musicians. For the tenth consecutive year, the Embassy of France will recapture this lively atmosphere in its gardens. More than 50 bands and street performers are expected to attend, creating a spectrum of local artistic talent for your enjoyment. Throughout the afternoon and evening, relax at our terrace café while savoring barbecued specialties, French "assiettes" (assorted plates), pastries, cotton candy, coffee, beer, wine, and — of course — bubbly (food and drinks sold separately). Wednesday, July 04, 2012. Independence Day July 4th Fireworks 8:05 PM Cruise on the Potomac boarding At Georgetown. Depart from the Georgetown waterfront to watch the 4th of July fireworks while enjoying the company of your ICDC friends. We invite you to join us for a relaxing cruise on the Potomac River and experience a spectacular fireworks display. Light food along with $3 margaritas will be served at the cash bar. Friday, July 13, 2012. Bastille Day Gala Celebration at the French Embassy - A grand French feast of music, art, cuisine wine and dance!. With the full support of His Excellency François Delattre, Ambassador of France to the United States, we cordially invite you to our annual “Bastille Day Galaat the Embassy of France,” where an evening of food, fun, music and dancing to live music awaits you! come on your own or with friends for an imaginary trip to France as you visit different Parisian "arrondissements"  (neighborhoods) throughout the evening. Cocktails and a silent auction will begin the festivities, and you will have a chance to bid on luxury items. Friday, October 12, 2012. After Hours at the Kreeger Museum: An Exclusive and Delightful Art and Jazz Soiree with Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and your ICDC friends!. The International Club of DC and the Kreeger Museum is pleased to present to you a wonderful evening of art and jazz! The Kreeger Museum, one of the world's finest museums of 19th and 20th century masterpieces of Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and others will be open just for ICDC members for an exclusive after-hours engagement featuring live jazz, appetizers, and cocktails. Tickets includes an open bar serving white wine and beer. Enjoy the exquisite surroundings of Philip Johnson’s architectural masterpiece while listening to jazz, sipping wine and viewing The Kreeger Museum’s special exhibition on display.
