See photos from a previous Ball!
You are cordially requested to join us for a 1920s-themed Great Gatsby Ball on the evening of Saturday June 16 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, one of Washington’s most beautiful exquisite venues. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel “The Great Gatsby” characterized the glamor and decadence of the 1920s and this is your chance to experience the elegance, splendor, and extravagance of 1920s America. You do not need a date to attend so come on your own or with friends, as singles and couples are both invited!
Whisper the password (or present your ticket!) to enter the secret world of speakeasy and discover the beautiful National Museum for Women in the Arts as it is reinvented for a night into a page from the F. Scotts Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby. Our Big Band will entertain you with thrilling 1920s era tunes whether you wish to dance the night away on the museum’s marble dance floor or simply enjoy a sophisticated evening with us on the museum’s mezzanine level overlooking the ballroom. Feast on our Great Gatsby dessert feast with wine and drinks served at the open bar. Our band will play a variety of swing, waltz, tango, and other dance music. Photographs will be taken of all arriving guests (singles, couples and group shots).
The museum's grand Renaissance Revival building and the elegant grand ballroom and Mezzanine provide the perfect setting to bring to life the romance and thrilling excitement of 1920s America. As you enter the museum, you will be greeted by a luxurious marble reception area, and a ballroom adorned by three beautiful crystal chandeliers and art from the museum’s permanent collection. White marble staircases sweep upward to the spacious Mezzanine where you will feast on champagne, wine, and a lavish dessert buffet.
This is a great opportunity for a private viewing of the museum’s permanent art collection in the ballroom, experience an elegant summer ball from Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, as well as meet international professionals and members of the diplomatic community.
You are welcome to attend the ball without a date, as we expect as many singles as couples.
