The International Club of DC and the Embassy of France cordially request the pleasure of your company for a gala celebration of music and dancing along with a grand feast featuring the finest gathering of French restaurants in DC. The theme for this year’s gala is flowers and fragrance! Join us for an unforgettable celebration at the French Embassy to dance the night away with us and celebrate the birth of French democracy!

Come by yourself or with friends for our trip to France as you visit different Parisian "arrondissements" (neighborhoods) throughout the evening. Start your evening with cocktails served at the open bar while perusing art and luxury items offered at the silent auction. Stroll around the embassy's garden, enjoy live music, and dance the night away as you make new friends. Our Bastille Day Gala sold out each of the last 8 years-- please reserve your tickets now!

The cuisine
Thanks to the traditions of each region in France, its diverse and refined cuisine is a major contributor to precious shared moments around the world. Come savor a delectable buffet of mouth-watering creations — both classic French dishes and modern twists — with some of Washington’s most renowned chefs! This Parisian celebration will also include authentic French pastries and an open bar of French wine, spirits and bubbly. Enjoy it all with friends and family during this rare evening behind the gates of the Embassy of France!

The music
Enjoy live French music and dancing throughout the evening!

The Avalon Jazz Band offers a ride in a time machine, bringing you back to the Parisian “zazou” era of the forties. This New York based ensemble offers a bridge between French charm and American glam, with just a pinch of burlesque and a spoonful of swing. The Avalon Jazz Band embodies Parisian culture with a bohemian spirit, performing French jazz songs, American standards, swing, and timeless classics with a hot twist!

The silent auction
Cocktails and a silent auction will begin the festivities. Guests will have a chance to bid on restaurant and hotel vouchers, pieces of art, as well as luxury items!

Festive evening attire suggested. Cocktail or festive 20's attire encouraged!

Tickets and Registration

Due to security considerations at the embassy, we are unable to accept walk-ins. You must reserve a ticket in advance to attend this event.

We expect this event to be very poular and sell out, as we have the last 8 years. Please reserve your tickets soon!

General Admission:
$100 includes one admission to the Bastille Day celebration. Join us to enjoy a  grand French feast of music, art, culture, cuisne, wine and dance! Admission includes: cocktail reception, Paris style Buffet Dinner including French cheeses and desserts, French wines, beers, soft drinks, coffee/tea, as well as an evening of French culture.

Benefactor Tickets:
$150: Benefactor Tikets - One entry to Bastille Day with all the General Admission benefits as well as access to the embassy’s parking garage. Your name will also be listed in the program and on the official Bastille Day 2012 website.

Due to security considerations at the embassy, parking will not be available at the embassy. Street parking will be available near the embassy as well as parking at the Georgetown University garage.


Due to liquor being served at the event, we recommend either public transportation or alternative transportation arrangements.

Environmentally conscious private driving service by Green Route: The international Club of DC is pleased to present an environmentally conscious private driving service composed entirely of hybrid vehicles. Green Route has arranged for a specially discounted rate for ICDC members. Please contact Green Route at 301 718 2577 and request special pricing for International Club of DC members. If you plan to attend with friends you can share the cost of the ride while saving the environment.

Additional Event Information & Notes

The Bastille Day is organized by The Comité Tricolore with the cooperation of the International Club of DC: The Comité Tricolore - a coordinating committee of French and French-American associations in the Washington metro area - is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides healthcare support to the sick and elderly in the local French and French-American community. Proceeds from the evening will sustain this mission throughout the year.
