The Republic of Moldova is a young state in full transition to a sustainable democracy, as well as an emerging market in South-Eastern part of Europe, neighboring Romania to the West and Ukraine to the East. Slightly larger than Maryland and positioned on the crossroads of Europe and Eurasia, Moldova historically and geographically has been and continues to be a territory of permanent and rich intercultural exchanges. During its 2000 years of history, 650 years of statehood and 18 years of independence, Moldova managed to preserve and develop its unique cultural and historic heritage, while interacting actively with nations from the Southeast of Europe and Eurasia. Although a small country, Moldova has a great potential as a tourist destination, represented by an unusual diversity of landscape reservations, beautiful scenery and unique monuments of European and world value. From villages to larger towns and cities, Moldova offers opportunities for visitors to become involved in a large variety of cultural activities and to discover a small but beautiful country. Among special points of interest in Moldova is its wine culture. The geographical latitude and climate conditions of Moldova are similar to the most renowned wine-making regions of France and Southern Spain. Beautiful nature, excellent cuisine, sparkling folk music and dances, hospitable people in small green villages – all of these make Moldova a special tourist destination.
Business or cocktail attire requested.
